How listings work & how to verify

How listings work

This directory lists advocates practising before India’s High Courts. Each listing is either Claimed — its information furnished by the advocate, verified only to the extent of mobile-OTP ownership and an enrollment-number match — or Unclaimed, reproducing factual fields from publicly available State Bar Council rolls. Neither status is an official or governmental verification.

How to cross-check an enrollment number

Every advocate in India is enrolled with a State Bar Council and holds a unique enrollment number (for example, MP/1234/2015). You can verify any number directly with the relevant State Bar Council or the Bar Council of India. This directory does not certify enrolment; it records it and points you to the official source.

Provenance labels

  • Claimed — the advocate has verified ownership of the listing.
  • Unclaimed — from public rolls — reproduced from public records; the advocate has not yet claimed it.

This website does not rank, recommend, endorse, or channel enquiries to any particular advocate.

Frequently asked questions

Is a listing on this website an official verification?

No. Claimed listings are self-declared by advocates and verified only to the extent of mobile-OTP ownership and an enrollment-number match. Unclaimed listings reproduce factual fields from public State Bar Council rolls. Neither is an official or governmental verification.

How do I check an advocate’s Bar Council enrollment number?

Note the enrollment number and enrolling State Bar Council shown on the listing, then verify it with that State Bar Council or the Bar Council of India, whose rolls are the official record.

What do “Claimed” and “Unclaimed” mean?

“Claimed” means the advocate has verified ownership of the listing. “Unclaimed — from public rolls” means the listing reproduces public-record data and has not yet been claimed by the advocate.

Does this website rank or recommend advocates?

No. Listings appear in neutral order only (by name, enrollment number, or year of enrollment). The website does not rank, recommend, endorse, or channel enquiries to any advocate.
